How do BeLoved photography sessions work?

Purchase your BeLoved photography session or sessions online and a BeLoved consultant will contact you within two business days to schedule and go over all the details of your shoot. Your photographer will also be in touch to discuss your vision, ideas, requests, and more!

If you purchase a newborn photo shoot, we recommend booking your session after baby arrives. Don't worry about securing your shoot day, though! We'll hold tentative dates on the calendar and after baby makes his or her debut, just give us a call and we'll confirm all your photo shoot details!

What is your Happiness Guarantee?

We know the goal of every maternity and baby session is to capture that one perfect image. We promise to deliver beautiful images with every photography session and will digitally enhance, refine, and beautify your photos to create that perfect wall-worthy shot.

What is included in the $349 and $595 photo packages?

With our $349 Photo Shoot, you’ll receive one full hour with your photographer at the location of your choosing. All photos taken on the shoot day belong to you! Our digital artists will enhance each high-resolution image prior to delivering them to you via digital download. All images are watermark-free and since you own the images, you also own full rights to print as many as you like, in the format you want!

The Bump to Baby Bundle, our $599 package, consists of one maternity shoot and one baby shoot. What a combo!

What happens after my photo session?

We know you're going to be anxious to see your photos, so our digital artists will get to work right away enhancing your digital images. We'll post your photos to our secure photo hosting website within one week of your shoot date and email you a private link for digital download. Easy-peasy :)

How do I order prints?

BeLoved does not currently offer photo printing, but since you own full rights to print and reprint your images, you can take your photos anywhere to be printed, turned into holiday cards, or blown up onto a canvas!

What days of the week are photo sessions offered?

BeLoved photographers are available seven days a week! Saturday and Sunday are the most popular days of the week for photo shoots, so if you have your heart set on a weekend, we recommend booking at least three weeks in advance.

If you are planning to use a public location for your photo shoot, keep in mind you will have to work around the other patrons. If it is a busy location, you might want to select a day that sees less foot traffic.

What's the best time of day for outdoor photos?

The general rule of thumb is to capture photos during the first few hours of light after sunrise and the last few hours of light before sunset. This timing helps avoids harsh glare and shadows created by the sun when it’s high in the sky. After chatting with your photographer, you just might discover that a certain aesthetic you’re going for, like high contrast, is better shot at differing times. Weather and season are also factors to consider when timing your shoot, but don’t worry, your BeLoved consultant will help you with all the details!

Can I add additional time to my photo session?

Of course you can! All sessions last one hour and additional time can easily be tacked on for $65 per half hour.

How many people can be in my photo shoot?

As many as you want! BeLoved does not charge per person, so you can include the whole family in your photo session. Keep in mind the more people involved, the more time it will take to nail your wall-worthy shots (someone always blinks, right?). If more than four people are participating in your shoot, we definitely recommend tacking on additional time.

Can I pick my photographer?

Your BeLoved consultant will match you to a photographer based on your type of photo shoot, the shoot location, and availability.

Will I have the same photographer for both of my photo shoots?

If you want! The Bump to Baby maternity and newborn photo package is wildly popular and it’s so simple to match your maternity and newborn photo shoot styles when you use the same photographer! Our photographers are incredibly talented and able to achieve a variety of looks, so if you want your two shoots to have different looks, we can do that too! You and your photographer will share the driver’s seat for scheduling, so as long as you are both free, get it on the books!

Do you conduct background checks on your photographers?

Absolutely! All BeLoved photographers go through a rigorous vetting process, which includes a background check.

What if I need to reschedule my session?

No problem! Life happens, things come up, and schedules change all the time. We totally get it and are happy to work with you to reschedule your session. Just contact BeLoved and we’ll get you taken care of right away!

Do I need to bring props?

Props are highly encouraged! The best props are those personal to you and yours. Popular items right now for baby shoots are blankets, baskets, musical instruments, and knit caps with animal ears. For maternity shoots, popular props are custom wood signs, flowy dresses, children’s books, and baby shoes. Remember, make it personal!

When should I have my maternity photoshoot?

Each mama-to-be is different, but we generally recommend somewhere between your 20th-35th week. We want to make sure you've 'popped', since a maternity session is all about that bump!

Where should I have my maternity session?

Anywhere you like! We’ve conducted photo sessions in homes, parks, downtown attractions, the beach, and even more incredible and interesting locations. Just make sure whatever location you’ve got your heart set on does not impose photography restrictions or charge fees for photoshoots.

What should I wear for my maternity photo shoot?

You should wear whatever makes you feel beautiful, comfortable, and shows off that bump! Your maternity session is all about you and the little life you’re creating. Flowy dresses tend to do best both visually and creatively but if you’re a pants kinda gal, solids and simple patterns also make for dynamic photography.

When should I schedule my newborn photo shoot?

We recommend booking with BeLoved around your 20-week mark. Once your BeLoved photography session is purchased, you are guaranteed to have one of our fabulous photographers on stand-by. Simply contact BeLoved once your baby arrives and we’ll get a date on the calendar!

When should I have my newborn photo shoot?

We recommend 5-14 days after birth. This way you and baby have time to get comfortable with each other at home (and baby has some time to add some chub to those sweet cheeks)! This is simply a suggestion though- the newborn stage lasts for several weeks, so don't stress about having to fit it into a window that doesn't suit you and your schedule.

What should I dress my baby in?

Anything you like!

If I am doing an in-home newborn session, do I need to clean my house?

Absolutely not! You’ve just had a baby, the last thing you need to do is clean for us. All we need is a little space with good lighting and our photographers will work their magic!

Any tips on how to make things run smoothly for my newborn session?

The best thing you can do for a smooth session is to make baby as comfortable as possible. Some tips that have worked for others include: make your house a bit warmer than usual to soothe baby, try to do a feeding before the session begins, and a fresh, clean diaper never hurt anyone!

What if I'm having twins?

Double the adorable! We love photographing twins and triplets, but we recommend making a few adjustments, such as adding at least another half hour of time. Since most twins spend a little extra time in the hospital, we usually wait longer than the first couple of weeks before doing the session.
